Genetic testing for
hereditary cancer risk
I led the complete design and user experience strategy for the MyRisk Hereditary Cancer Test Journey, architecting a comprehensive design system and directing the creative implementation across all customer touchpoints and platforms.
Key Achievements:
Built the foundational design system that standardized the entire user experience
Directed end-to-end UX strategy for all screens and user interactions
Designed the critical risk communication framework for patient reports
Strategic Impact: Given MyRisk's complexity as a predictive rather than diagnostic tool, I solved the critical challenge of translating complex genetic data into clear, actionable risk communication. I ensured patients could understand their cancer predisposition without confusion or misinterpretation—a design decision with direct impact on patient outcomes and peace of mind.
This project required balancing scientific accuracy with human psychology, ultimately delivering a solution that empowers patients with life-changing information they can confidently act upon.
The journey begins with the patient and family history survey
Platform: mobile
After taking the survey, if they qualify for genetic testing, the provider then places the order for MyRisk Hereditary Cancer Testing
The electronic test request form is streamlined to include the information provided by the patient
Platform: desktop
The patient then receives an easy to follow at-home kit for saliva collection
Platform: print
After their sample is processed, the provider and patient will receive a comprehensive report detailing the results and suggested follow-up measures if any
Platform: print and digital
